Bubba Chandler, RHP, Pirates: After dominating the International League for two months, Pirates No. 1 prospect Bubba Chandler has hit a speed bump in June. For the fourth time in four June starts, Chandler struggled on Sunday, as he gave up five hits and six earned runs in 2.2 innings. It was his worst outing of the season.
Chandler has a 10.61 ERA in four June starts. His velocity remains strong (he sat at 97 mph and touched 100 on Sunday), but he's not missing bats. Chandler got just one swing and miss on Sunday, and he struggled to locate his slider. Only four of 12 sliders were strikes.
Chandler cruised for two innings before losing his feel for the strike zone in the third. He gave up two walks, a wild pitch, three singles, a double and a three-run Jhonkensy Noel home run before he was lifted with two outs in the third.
This was actually a bit of a step forward for Chandler, as he cruised for two innings before struggling. He failed to get out of the first in his second June start and he threw only 53 percent strikes in his third start of the month.
David Sandlin, RHP, Red Sox: Sandlin's 2025 season has had plenty of ups and downs, but he was truly dominant on Sunday, as he threw six no-hit innings. Relievers Christopher Troye and Jonathan Brand pitched the final three innings to complete the no-hitter.
Sandlin was in control from the first inning. He struck out the first two batters on six pitches and struck out the side on 11 pitches (he threw one ball and one two-strike foul ball). Sandlin's only real trouble came in the sixth inning, when he walked back-to-back batters to start the inning, but he got Cooper Ingle and Angel Genao to fly out, and he struck out Joe Lampe to end the inning.
Sandlin's ERA was 5.23 in mid May, but this was his third scoreless outing in his last five starts, as he's now 4-3, 3.90.
Josue De Paula, OF, Dodgers: For a second consecutive game, De Paula homered on Sunday. His 10th home run of the season moved him into fourth in the Midwest League in home runs. De Paula was 2-for-3 with a walk on Sunday, and he also stole three bases, giving him 22 in 25 tries this season. He's 10th in the Midwest League in steals. His 58 walks and 49 runs scored both lead the league.
Franyerber Montilla, 2B, Tigers: Montilla went 4-for-6 with his fourth home run of the season on Sunday in his best game of the year for Low-A Lakeland. Montilla is finishing the first half of the season on a tear. He's working on a six-game hitting streak and he's hitting .292/.370/.446 this month.
Marco Raya, RHP, Twins: Raya has struggled to live up to expectations in 2025. Opponents were hitting .431 against him seven starts into the season, and he had a ERA above 10 early this month. But in recent for outings for Triple-A St. Paul, he's started to show signs of getting back to the form that has long made him one of the better prospects in the Twins' system. Raya's curveball and cutter were effective on Sunday as he held Toledo scoreless for five innings. He allowed three hits and one walk while striking out eight. It was Raya's third scoreless start in the past five. Control has been a problem for Raya this year, but he was able to consistently get ahead of hitters on Sunday. Raya lowered his ERA to 7.59 and opponents are now hitting .305 against him.
Jonathan Santucci, LHP, Mets: Santucci has impressively put a poor first quarter of the season behind him. In his first six starts of the season, Santucci allowed 33 hits and 19 runs in just 21 innings. But after he threw five scoreless innings on Sunday for High-A Brooklyn with just one-hit allowed, Santucci has now allowed just 18 hits and four runs in his past 35 innings. Santucci retired the first 11 batters he faced, and a walk and steal by Austin Overn in the fifth was the only time he allowed a runner into scoring position. The Mets' 2024 second-round pick, Santucci is now 4-4, 3.80 this season with an 8.1% walk rate and a 24.7% strikeout rate.

Baseball America Helium Pick Of The Day
Each day, we’ll pick a prospect that has our attention.
Michael Forret, RHP, Orioles: A back injury cost him a month of the season, but when Forret has been on the mound for High-A Aberdeen, he's dominated. Forret allowed just one hit in five scoreless innings against Brooklyn on Sunday. That lowered his ERA for the season to 1.34. He's allowed just 12 hits in 33.2 innings. This was the first time that Forret has worked five innings since he came off the injured list at the start of the month. His pitch limit is slowly edging up, but he was pulled after 56 pitches on Sunday.
