Tyler Locklear, 1B, D-backs: Selling at the trade deadline is never easy—especially when it means parting with a red-hot bat and respected clubhouse presence like Eugenio Suárez. But the Diamondbacks have to be encouraged by the early returns. Locklear wasted no time making an impression, launching his first home run of the season—and his first with the club—a towering solo shot off JP Sears, who was recently traded to the Padres along with Mason Miller. The blast left the bat at 107.7 mph. The 24-year-old has shown the ability to make loud contact. Now the key will be proving he can maintain plate discipline and avoid being overly aggressive.

Brailyn Antunez, OF, Brewers: Antunez combines a strong, athletic frame with a promising toolset at a premium position. Still early in his development and with plenty to improve on he flashed his power potential on Monday by launching his first professional home run as part of a 3-for-5, five-RBI performance for the Brewers in the Dominican Summer League. He generates fast bat speed and already drives the ball with authority to all fields. At the plate, he shows a mature approach with advanced pitch recognition, solid plate discipline and consistent bat-to-ball skills. While not the prototypical wiry center fielder, Antunez’s plus-plus speed, instincts and plus arm give him a strong chance to stick in center long-term. It hasn’t been an encouraging start—he’s batting just .210—but perhaps this could mark a turning point.
Josuar Gonzalez, SS, Giants: Gonzalez is quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting young talents not only in the Dominican Summer League, but across all of the minors. Ranked No. 97 on Baseball America’s Top 100 Prospects list, Gonzalez extended his hit streak to seven games on Monday with a three-hit performance for the Giants in the Dominican Summer League, further showcasing his advanced approach at the plate. A switch-hitter with explosive bat speed from both sides, he generates easy power and has the ability to leave the yard from either side of the box. While his hit tool is still developing—as expected for a player his age—his offensive ceiling is considerable. Defensively, he brings a standout toolset: double-plus speed, above-average arm strength, soft hands, smooth range and the athleticism to potentially stick at shortstop as he climbs the ranks.
Raudy Reyes, RHP, Braves: Reyes signed for nearly $1.8 million in the most recent international signing period, by far the biggest bonus for a Latin American pitching prospect. And as Ben Badler detailed in his Braves International Review, Reyes arrived in pro ball with a big triple-digit fastball--but also big questions about his strike-throwing. That has played out in Reyes' first Dominican Summer League campaign. Reyes has walked four or more batters in five of his seven starts this season. But Reyes did a much better job limiting free passes on Monday and turned in his best outing of the season over four scoreless innings. Reyes allowed just one hit, walked two and struck out six.

Baseball America Helium Pick Of The Day
Alexander Garcia, RHP, Guardians: Garcia signed with Cleveland out of Venezuela in 2024 and put forth a ho-hum pro debut in the Dominican Summer League. He returned to the level in 2025 and has been one of the best pitchers on the Guardians’ two DSL clubs. He got a chance to showcase his talent in the DSL all-star game and didn’t disappoint. In the league’s midsummer classic, Garcia showed a lively fastball up to 96 mph and complemented it with a sweeping breaking ball and a hard-dropping changeup. Together, the repertoire has helped Garcia strike out 38 hitters in 34.2 innings.
