Trey Yesavage, RHP, Blue Jays: Just over a year ago, Yesavage was one of college baseball's best arms at East Carolina. Fast forward to now, and the 22-year-old righthander has made a statement in his major league debut with the Blue Jays. Facing the Rays on Monday night, Yesavage struck out nine batters over an impressive outing, setting a new franchise record for strikeouts in a debut along with 19 whiffs. With a nasty splitter, sharp command and poise beyond his years, Yesavage gave Blue Jays fans an exciting glimpse of what could be a very bright future. He touched every level of the of affiliated ball this season before his debut.

Sal Stewart, 1B, Reds: Stewart continued his powerful start to his big league career with a standout performance Monday night, launching a solo home run with a blistering 112.6 mph exit velocity as part of a three-hit effort in the Reds’ win over the Cardinals. It was Stewart's second three-hit game with Cincinnati. With the performance, he boosted his OPS to .919 over 11 games and has now homered in back-to-back contests, further cementing his impact in Cincinnati’s lineup. He has played eight games at first base and two at second.

Zach Cole, OF, Astros: Opportunity knocked early for Cole, and he answered with authority. Just four games into his big league career, the 25-year-old outfielder was called upon to pinch-hit for Yordan Alvarez after he left Monday night's game against the Rangers with an ankle injury. Cole seized the moment, launching a go-ahead two-run homer to put the Astros in front of the Rangers. He later added an RBI single to give the Astros some breathing room in the win. Since his callup on Friday, Cole is 6-for-13 with two home runs and seven RBIs, making an immediate impression in Houston’s lineup.

Colt Emerson, SS, Mariners: The top prospect in the Mariners’ system is taking another step forward. Seattle has promoted its top prospect, 20-year-old shortstop Colt Emerson, to Triple-A Tacoma for the final week of the minor league regular season, according to a report from Chase Ford. The 2023 first-round pick out of John Glenn High School (Ohio) has impressed at every stop in his young career, climbing quickly through the ranks. Splitting time between High-A and Double-A this year, Emerson posted a strong .281/.380/.446 slash line with 14 home runs and 69 RBIs. While the move isn't expected to signal an imminent MLB debut, it offers Emerson a valuable taste of Triple-A competition.

Jarlin Susana, RHP, Nationals: Nationals righthander Jarlin Susana had surgery to repair his right lat muscle last week, the team told reporters on Monday, which could bring his availability for the start of the 2026 season into question, according to MASN's Mark Zuckerman. The 21-year-old, who ranks No. 65 on our Top 100, hadn't pitched since he was pulled from an Aug. 30 outing for Double-A Harrisburg. When healthy, Susana has one of the loudest arsenals in the minors. He struck out 38.9% of batters this season, albeit with a 13.9% walk rate. Staying healthy, though, was a challenge. A right UCL sprain in his elbow sidelined Susana for much of the first half of the season and limited him to just 56.1 innings.

Baseball America Helium Pick Of The Day

Each day, we’ll pick a prospect that has our attention.

Joshua Baez, OF, Cardinals: Baez had arguably the most improbable breakout season in the minors in 2025. The 2021 second-round pick homered in each of the final three games of the regular season, driving his home run total to 20. Baez also finished with 58 stolen bases, making him one of two players to produce a 20/50 season alongside BA No. 1 overall prospect Konnor Griffin. Baez will likely be added to the 40-man roster this offseason and should debut in 2026.
