Jac Caglianone, 1B/OF, Royals: While his 80-grade raw power grabs headlines, Caglianone's bat-to-balls skills make his profile click. His hit tool was on display Wednesday night in a 3-for-4 showing for Triple-A Omaha that included a double, and he also started in right field. Over his first eight games at Triple-A, the former Florida two-way star is 12-for-35 with six extra-base hits. Caglianone is renowned for his hard-hit data and he didn't disappoint on Wednesday, hitting three balls above 95 mph including a 109.1 mph exit velocity on his third-inning double. Caglianone's callup is not a matter of if--it's when. The Royals would ideally like to get him more seasoning in right field first, but there's little doubt his bat is ready for the show.

Bryce Eldridge, 1B, Giants: Eldridge missed a few weeks to begin the season, but since returning on April 22 he’s been as advertised for Double-A Richmond. On Wednesday night, Eldridge hit his sixth home run of the season to give Richmond a lead in the fifth inning that it never relinquished. Eldridge is hitting .294/.361/.532 with six home runs over his first 30 games. One of the top slugging prospects in the game, Eldridge will continue to work on closing up some of the holes in his swing before getting his first taste of the major leagues.

Cole Young, SS, Mariners: Young has been lauded for his hit tool dating back to his days on the amateur showcase circuit. That feedback has remained consistent throughout his professional career, and Wednesday was a shining example. Young went 5-for-6 in Tacoma's 19-8 drubbing of Salt Lake and finished the game with two doubles, two runs, two RBIs, a steal and seven total bases. Young has been an above-average performer in 2025 in his first taste of Triple-A. He's hitting .277/.384/.465 over 52 games with a nearly even strikeout-to-walk ratio. There's a real chance Young could contribute to the Mariners' playoff hopes this summer.

Brody Hopkins, RHP, Rays: After a string of up-and-down outings over the first month of the season, things have been much sunnier for Rays prospect Brody Hopkins in May. On Wednesday, Hopkins capped off a strong month with a five inning scoreless outing against Double-A Pensacola. Hopkins allowed three hits and two walks while striking out eight. Over the course of the evening, Hopkins kept the Blue Wahoos bats off balance and generated 13 swinging strikes on 88 pitches. A former two-way player in college, the Rays acquired Hopkins from the Mariners in the Randy Arozarena trade last July. Hopkins has potential starter upside with premium stuff and athleticism on the mound.

Brock Wilken, 3B, Brewers: A year after recovering from a gruesome hit-by-pitch injury to his face, Wilken has rediscovered his power stroke in 2025. Wilken launched his Double-A-leading 12th home run on Wednesday night as he raised his OPS to .902. Wilken’s strikeout rate is down this season while his walk rate has climbed tremendously. His ability to hit for power while getting on base at an elite rate of .399 gives Wilken a pathway to success as a three-true-outcome slugger.

Baseball America Helium Pick Of The Day

Each day, we’ll pick a prospect that has our attention.

Carlos Lagrange, RHP, Yankees: Lagrange has quieted his critics over his first eight starts of 2025. On Wednesday, Lagrange tossed 6.2 innings of one-run ball, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out eight. The 6-foot-7 righthander lowered his ERA to 4.10 with a dazzling 1.03 WHIP and a .203 opponent’s batting average. Lagrange has already matched his career high in innings (41.2) and will blow past that number this season. On the year, Lagrange has struck out 64 batters to 12 walks and boasts one of the strongest strikeout-to-walk ratios in the minors. Lagrange has huge stuff led by his triple-digit fastball, and if his control remains as good as it’s been early he has midrotation or better potential.
