Sal Stewart, 3B/1B, Reds: The Reds’ No. 1 prospect collected two hits—a home run and a double—in three at-bats, while also drawing a walk, scoring two runs and driving in four in a Cactus League rout of the Cubs.
Even the out Stewart made—a 103.5 mph groundout—was hit hard
A September callup last year, Stewart finished the season batting cleanup and playing first base for Cincinnati in the postseason. He is on track to serve as a regular for the Reds who sees time at first, second and third base.
Justin Gonzales, OF, Red Sox: The Red Sox right fielder recorded the hardest-hit ball of spring training in a Grapefruit League games against the Blue Jays on Monday. The 19-year-old Gonzales lined a single to left field at 117.3 mph against righthander Devereaux Harrison.
Gonzales went 1-for-2 on the day in his second spring appearance. He played primarily for Low-A Salem last season, seeing a couple weeks at High-A Greenville. He batted .281/.363/.390 with four home runs in 93 games.
Gonzales stands in at 6-foot-6, 277 pounds and has immense power potential if he can make more contact at ideal angles.
Aidan Miller, SS, Phillies: The Phillies planned to send their 21-year-old shortstop to the Arizona Fall League last year following his outstanding minor league season. Those plans were scuttled by a back injury, one that has limited him this spring following a setback in his recovery.
Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski expressed "a little concern" about Miller's injury but said that he was making progress and that he might still be ready for the beginning of the season.
Kemp Alderman, OF, Marlins: Alderman went 2-for-3 and connected for his first Grapefruit League home run on Monday. The homer registered an exit velocity of nearly 108 mph and traveled 348 feet to left field.
Alderman is a righthanded-hitting corner outfielder who could hit his way into the MLB picture this year. The Marlins drafted him out of Mississippi in the second round in 2023. Last year in the upper minors, Alderman hit 22 homers and stole 22 bases. He was one of 16 minor leaguers to go 20-20.

Baseball America Helium Pick Of The Day
Each day, we’ll pick a prospect that has our attention.
James Tibbs III, OF, Dodgers: We typically reserve this spot for players a bit more under the radar than Tibbs, the 13th pick in the 2024 draft, but his pro career has been quite atypical. Tibbs has already been traded twice: First by the Giants in the Rafael Devers deal, then by the Red Sox to the Dodgers for Dustin May. Tibbs entered the year ranked 26th in the Dodgers system.
But Tibbs quietly enjoyed the best prolonged stretch of his pro career in 2025 upon joining the Dodgers, slashing .269/.407/.493 with seven homers over 36 games for Double-A Tulsa. And that momentum has carried over into spring training. Tibbs launched a 458-foot home run on Monday, the longest projected distance of any spring training homer, and also homered on Sunday.
As Tibbs’ preseason scouting report notes, a swing tweak and an approach adjustment has helped him find a bit more success with the Dodgers. We’ll be watching to see whether those gains hold in the early goings of 2026.
