One of the busiest days of the year is upon us. MLB teams have already traded over 30 prospects ahead of the 6 p.m. ET deadline, and we expect that number to double (if not triple) throughout the rest of the day.

Sunday Standouts
Matt Wilkinson, LHP, Giants: At his best, Triple-A Sacramento lefthander Matt "Tugboat" Wilkinson is a maestro of moxie and deception. Wilkinson topped out at 92 mph on Sunday, but he still generated 11 whiffs with his fastball, five with his slider and four with his changeup while holding Tacoma scoreless over seven innings.
Wilkinson limited the Rainiers to three hits and one walk while striking out nine. He lowered his Triple-A ERA to 4.41 and has held opponents to a .205 batting average at the level. If Wilkinson keeps the ball in the park, he thrives. Nine of the 17 runs he has allowed in Triple-A have come via the home run.
Mitch Voit, SS, Mets: The Mets promoted shortstop Mitch Voit to Double-A Binghamton at the start of last week, and he has responded with one of his best weeks of the season.
Voit went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a home run, five RBIs and three runs scored on Sunday, capping a .500/.593/.909 week. After recording just three extra-base hits in 17 July games with High-A Brooklyn, he already has six extra-base hits in his first six games with Binghamton.
Overall, Voit is hitting .260/.366/.432 this season.
George Lombard Jr., SS, Yankees: If the Yankees need any more evidence that Lombard is ready for a call to the majors, Sunday was a useful message. Lombard went 4-for-5 with a double, triple and three RBIs for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
After striking out in all four of his plate appearances on May 28, Lombard has now reached base in 33 consecutive games, including a pair of rehab appearances in the Florida Complex League. He hit .349/.481/.488 in July, and a 5-for-11 start to August has raised his season slash line to .284/.411/.498.
Xavier Isaac, 1B, Rays: Isaac has a swing geared to generate plenty of power. He sifts through pitches looking for something he can drive with a cut that doesn't stay in the zone for very long, but lifts balls into the trees when he squares one up.
Sunday, he was at his best for Double-A Montgomery, going 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly, an RBI walk and two long home runs in a seven-RBI game. One of his home runs landed far up the batter's eye in center field. It was Isaac's 18th and 19th home runs of the season. After a very difficult June, Isaac hit .290/.421/.482 in July. After Sunday's game, August is starting off even better. Isaac is now hitting .250/.394/.493 overall.

Bryce Mayer, RHP, Astros: Drafted by the Astros in the 16th round back in 2024 out of Missouri, Mayer has proven to be a great find by Houston’s amateur department. Mayer reached Double-A in his first full professional season and has spent all of 2026 with Corpus Christi, where he’s pitched to a 2.86 ERA over 63 innings. He made four appearances and three starts in July and allowed just a single earned run across 19 innings. He logged a 42% strikeout rate on the month and generated 12 or more swinging strikes in each of his three starts with a pair of 16-whiff starts.
Mayer has good stuff, mixing five pitches. His four-seamer, sweeper and curveball are his primary mix, but he throws a cutter and changeup a fair amount, too. Mayer’s four-seam fastball sits 92-94 mph with high spin rates, but it’s his nearly seven feet of extension on average that creates plus angles on the pitches and helps him generate swinging strikes at a high rate (13%). His sweeper sits 80-82 mph with ride and 13 inches of sweep with spin rates in the 2,700-2,800 range. It’s Mayer’s most effective pitch, with a 29.3% swinging-strike rate and 41.2% chase rate in 2026. His curveball is a two-plane breaking ball in the upper 70s, while his cutter and changeup sit in the mid-to-high 80s.
Mayer has the stuff, command and ability to repeat his mechanics and start in the big leagues. He could debut for the Astros at some point in 2027.
Mayer was one of 10 pitching prospects who caught Geoff Pontes’ attention in July.

In the same game, Lackey went 2-for-4 at DH, and the Mighty Mussels won 20-3.
