Trey Yesavage, RHP, Blue Jays: On Monday, the Blue Jays promoted their 2024 first-round pick to Triple-A Buffalo, per Keegan Matheson of MLB.com. This will be Yesavage’s fourth level this season, as he’s now made the complete tour of Blue Jays full-season affiliates. Yesavage owns a 3.01 ERA and 2.20 xFIP across 80.2 innings in 2025 spanning three levels. Over eight appearances with Double-A New Hampshire, he struck out 38% of batters faced. His 4.50 ERA at the Double-A is his worst at any stop so far, but his ERA estimators were far rosier with a 2.56 FIP and a 2.81 xFIP. Yesavage is unlikely to debut with the Blue Jays in 2025, but it’s not out of the question considering the team's current aspirations and his close proximity.

Colson Montgomery, SS, White Sox: After battling through a couple of up-and-down seasons in the minors, Montgomery has finally found his rhythm—and he’s making every moment count now that he’s in the big leagues. Since arriving in Chicago, the White Sox infielder has looked like a different player: confident, powerful and poised at the plate. On Monday, Montgomery crushed his 10th home run of the season, continuing a breakout stretch that’s quickly turning heads across the league. No longer just a prospect with potential, he’s becoming a legitimate threat in the heart of the lineup. Montgomery is slashing .241/.311/.565 with 10 home runs and 26 RBIs, showcasing a power-first profile that still leaves room for growth.
Tyler Locklear, 1B, Diamondbacks: Since coming over to Arizona from the Mariners as part of the Eugenio Suarez deal, Locklear has struggled to string together hits. The 24-year-old first baseman had just five in 32 at-bats across nine games with the Diamondbacks entering the week. On Monday, Locklear, who had ranked 14th on the Mariners' Top 30 list, found himself a bit, launching his second home run of the season (fourth of his career) in a 7-6 loss against the Rangers. Locklear collected two hits in the game, raising his average to .189. There's already pressure on a young player's bat when they play first base full time, but being tied into the return for Saurez dials expectations even higher for Locklear.
Roman Anthony, OF, Red Sox: Although he has graduated from being Baseball America's No. 1 prospect, Anthony is living up to that billing. Fresh off signing a massive 8-year, $130 million extension with the Red Sox, the 20-year-old outfielder wasted no time rewarding the club’s confidence, launching his third big league homer in emphatic fashion. Since June 27, Anthony has been on an absolute tear at the plate, slashing .341/.433/.504. His recent hot streak signals more than just a temporary surge—it's a glimpse of what could be a cornerstone bat in Boston for years to come.

Baseball America Helium Pick Of The Day
Each day, we’ll pick a prospect that has our attention.
Drew Gilbert, OF, Giants: The past two weeks have been nothing short of a whirlwind for Gilbert. After being traded from the Mets to the Giants in the Tyler Rogers deal—the second trade of his pro career—Gilbert didn’t have much time to settle in. Within a week after the move, he was called up to the big leagues on Friday, and he’s already making his presence felt. In his MLB debut, Gilbert wasted no time showing off his defensive instincts, making a highlight-reel diving catch in right field that immediately turned heads. Then, in Monday’s series opener against the Padres, he continued to check off milestones by notching his first big league hit—a bloop single to the opposite field—and later swiping his first MLB stolen base. Gilbert was originally drafted by the Astros in 2022, but was then deal to the Mets in the Justin Verlander trade in 2023.
