Leo De Vries, SS, Padres: Few players at any level of professional baseball have turned in a performance like the one Leo De Vries delivered Tuesday night for High-A Fort Wayne. The 18-year-old hit for the cycle, crushed two home runs and drove in eight runs—all in the same game. He went a perfect 5-for-5 and became just the third player in TinCaps history to hit for the cycle. Every one of those RBIs mattered, too. De Vries helped power Fort Wayne to a wild 16-15 win over Lansing. The switch-hitting shortstop badly needed a performance like Tuesday's after hitting just .217 with 13 strikeouts to five walks entering the game. One of the crown jewels of the 2024 international class, De Vries signed with the Padres for $4.2 million out of the Dominican Republic and reached Low-A Lake Elsinore the same year, where he slashed .260/.384/.519 with all 11 of his homers over his final 45 games.

Demetrio Crisantes, 2B, D-backs: Crisantes emerged as one of the more intriguing pure hitters in the lower levels in 2024, even carrying a 57-game on-base streak into this season with High-A Hillsboro. The streak has since ended as he acclimates to a new level, but Crisantes jolted awake on Tuesday night, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBIs and a steal. His performance included his second homer of the season, a mammoth pullside blast in the third inning off Tri-City RHP Austin Gordon. The showing marked Crisantes' second multi-hit game of the season. He's one of several impressive Arizona prospects with High-A Hillsboro--his teammate, Ryan Waldschmidt, also homered Tuesday night and is hitting .346/.493/.635 with four homers and nearly as many walks (12) as strikeouts (15).
George Klassen, RHP, Angels: After a rocky season debut where he allowed six runs in 2.1 innings, George Klassen has put together three consecutive impressive outings for Double-A Rocket City. Tuesday's was his best yet, as the Angels righthander struck out nine batters and scattered three hits over 5.1 scoreless innings. Over his last 13.1 innings, he’s racked up 22 strikeouts while leaning on his 70-grade fastball. Klassen needs to prove he's a more polished strike-thrower and has shown better command over his last two outings, walking just one batter in 10.1 innings.
PJ Morlando, OF, Marlins: Marlins fans have rarely seen 2024 first-round pick PJ Morlando in action, but Tuesday night was a reminder to keep an eye on the powerful teenager. Morlando launched a 379-foot opposite-field homer for his first career professional hit in the eighth inning of Low-A Jupiter's 7-5 loss to Palm Beach. The blast left the bat at 102.2 mph and was part of a 1-for-4 night that included a walk and two strikeouts in his first game of the season. Morlando's pro debut ended last season after just one Low-A at-bat because of a lumbar stress reaction, and his start to 2025 was delayed while recovering from left elbow surgery on March 12.
Bryce Eldridge, 1B, Giants: Eldridge wasted no time picking up right where he left off. After starting the season on the IL with a left wrist injury, the 20-year-old returned to the lineup for Double-A Richmond and launched his first home run of the season just three pitches into his first at-bat of the year. The Giants' 2023 first-round pick has 70-grade power and flew through their system last year, going from Low-A to Triple-A in his age-19 season, and even got 10 games in the Arizona Fall League. If he can keep producing, Eldridge has a real shot to reach San Francisco before the year's over.
Jacob Misiorowski, RHP, Brewers: Misiorowski bounced back in a big way Tuesday night for Triple-A Nashville. After allowing a season-high five earned runs in his previous outing, Misiorowski came out dealing against Durham, striking out eight over six scoreless innings of one-hit ball. It was the third time this season he’s racked up at least seven strikeouts. Misiorowski pounded the zone, throwing 50 of his 76 pitches for strikes—an encouraging sign for a pitcher who battled command issues last year. His fastball sat 97-98 mph and touched 99.8, generating 11 whiffs and keeping hitters off balance all night. Misiorowski has now allowed one earned run or less in four of his five outings this year.
Winston Santos, RHP, Rangers: Rangers general manager Ross Fenstermaker said Santos—the organization’s No. 5 prospect—will be out 8-10 weeks with a stress reaction in his back, according to a report from Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News. Santos, 23, has an 11-2 K-BB mark and a 3.18 ERA over 5.2 innings through his first two starts this season for Double-A Frisco.

Baseball America Helium Pick Of The Day
Each day, we’ll pick a prospect that has our attention.
Sean Linan, RHP, Dodgers: The 2022 Dodgers signee out of Colombia led the minors in strikeouts through April 21 and ranks near the top in swinging strike rate thanks to a freakish, high-spin changeup that mirrors his fastball and vanishes at the plate. He’s piled up 58 whiffs over his first three starts—each outing either leading or tying for the most in baseball, majors included. Linan isn’t overpowering with velocity, but his deceptive arsenal and rising strikeout totals make him one of the buzzier pop-up arms in the sport.
