Kyle Teel, C, White Sox: Teel is headed to the South Side. The White Sox are calling up the No. 42 prospect in baseball, MassLive's Chris Cotillo reported on Thursday. Teel was the centerpiece of the blockbuster deal that sent Garrett Crochet to Boston and Teel, Braden Montgomery, Chase Meidroth and Wikelman Gonzalez back to Chicago. Meidroth has already settled into a productive big league role. Now, the White Sox hope Teel can do the same. The 23-year-old wasted no time making a first impression, homering off Roki Sasaki in a spring training sim game—the first time the electric Japanese righty faced live hitters. Since then, Teel has kept the momentum going, slashing .295/.394/.492 with eight homers and 30 RBIs. He’ll now join a young and intriguing catching tandem in Chicago, sharing duties with fellow rising talent Edgar Quero.

Orelvis Martinez, 2B, Blue Jays: June is barely underway, but Martinez is already making it his month. In his final at-bat of the game for Triple-A Buffalo, the 23-year-old scorched a solo shot 401 feet with a 106.6 mph exit velocity—his fourth homer in three games. The power surge began with a two-homer performance to open the week, and he’s now slugging a scorching 1.111 through the early days of June. It’s the kind of blistering week Martinez could use to jumpstart his season. Martinez is slashing .234/.311/.462 overall—flashing power but still searching for consistency. Last year, he was tearing up the minors and earned his MLB debut with the Blue Jays, only to be sidelined by an 80-game suspension for testing positive for clomiphene. Now, with a clean slate, Martinez looks like he’s out to prove something—and this might just be the start.

Carter Jensen, C, Royals: Jensen racked up 13 RBIs last month, and he’s nearly halfway there just four games into June. The Royals slugger drove a career-high in six runs in a single night on Thursday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas to power his hot start to the month. He was a homer short of the cycle. Jensen is walking slightly more and striking out slightly less so far in his return to Double-A, although his slugging has yet to materialize consistently. Perhaps this is the kickstart to a power surge in June.

Bryce Eldridge, 1B, Giants: There was plenty of buzz when the Giants promoted Eldridge to Triple-A. If you've followed his rise, you already know why. If not, just watch his first home run at the level. The 20-year-old wasted no time making a statement with Triple-A Sacramento, launching a grand slam with a blistering 109.9 mph exit velocity—his first Triple-A homer, and it came in just his second game. It’s the latest milestone in a rapid ascent for the first baseman, who touched every affiliated level last season and just keeps climbing.

Christian Moore, 2B/3B, Angels: Moore’s power is impressive, especially in a hitter’s haven like Salt Lake. The Angels’ 2024 first-rounder launched a 450-foot rocket to dead center for his first Triple-A homer on Thursday. It’s the latest highlight in a strong start at the level. Through 14 games, Moore is slashing .309/.400/.400—a clear step forward from his slower run in Double-A, where he hit just .234. He's off to a productive start, although he'll need to keep an eye on his strikeout rate, which is hovering just under 30% so far.

Baseball America Helium Pick Of The Day

Each day, we’ll pick a prospect that has our attention.

Yohendrick Pinango, OF, Blue Jays: The Blue Jays believed in Yohendrick Pinango’s bat speed and exit velocities when they first acquired him from the Cubs last summer, but they also had some ideas for the outfielder. His attack angle was pretty steep. So while he was making hard contact, Pinango often drove the ball low in the air or directly into the ground. Today, for Baseball America subscribers, Shi Davidi explains how the Jays helped Pinango unlock a new swing and a breakout year so far in 2025.
