Konnor Griffin, SS/OF, Pirates: After dominating the Florida State League, the Pirates are promoting Griffin to High-A Greensboro. Griffin himself Tweeted out the news on Sunday. Griffin has been one of the most productive hitters in the minors this season so far, especially when you consider how much the Florida State League reduces offensive production. Griffin was leading the Florida State League in batting average (.338) and slugging percentage (.536) and he was second in home runs (9). Griffin was hitting .520 this month and hit .354 in May.
Chase Burns, RHP, Reds: Burns is being promoted a second time this season, as he's jumping from Double-A Chattanooga to Triple-A Louisville. The news was first reported by Chatterbox Sports. Burns was 6-1, 1.29 at Chattanooga with an exceptional 55-4 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He's 6-3, 1.68 in 11 starts overall. Burns had been following a similar timeline to that of Reds' 2023 first-rounder Rhett Lowder, as both started at High-A Dayton before getting a quick promotion to Double-A. But Burns blitzed the Southern League, while Lowder needed a few starts to get settled at the new level. Lowder didn't get a promotion to Triple-A until Aug. 22. Burns will be there before the midway point of the season.
Jac Caglianone, 1B/OF, Royals: While we still are waiting for Caglianone to get his first MLB home run, he did have an exceptional Sunday. After going 2-for-21 in his first five games, Caglianone went 4-for-4 on Sunday with his second MLB double. Caglianone has only struck out four times in 25 plate appearances so far, although he's also looking for his first walk. Caglianone is hitting .240/.240/.320 after his first excellent big league game at the plate.
Chandler Simpson, OF, Rays: Recently returned to Triple-A Durham, Simpson went 5-for-5 with a stolen base on Sunday. Simpson is hitting .391 since he was returned to Triple-A on June 3 and he's hitting .323/.340/.344 overall for the Bulls. Simpson is working on his defense to speed his return to the majors, but he also is reminding everyone of how he won the MiLB batting crown last year.
Carson Williams, SS, Rays: This season has been a struggle for Williams, but June is going wite well. Williams was hitting .173 coming into the month for Triple-A Durham, but he began June with a three-hit game that included a home runs. On Sunday, he was even better, going 4-for-5 with two home runs and seven RBIs for the Bulls. Williams now has nine home runs in 57 games, as he raised his slash line to .197/.296/.394.
Charlie Condon, 1B/OF, Pirates: After missing nearly two months with a wrist injury, Condon is trying to make up for lost time. On Sunday he went 3-for-4 with a double for High-A Spokane, raising his stats to .339/.488/.500. It's been an encouraging bounceback after Condon's struggles at the end of the 2024 season. He's struck out just 17.5% of the time while walking 20% of the time. Condon's power hasn't shown up yet (four doubles and two home runs in 17 games), but he's been a very solid hitter so far since returning to action on May 21.

Baseball America Helium Pick Of The Day
Each day, we’ll pick a prospect that has our attention.
Will Taylor, OF, Pirates: Taylor went 3-for-5 with a double and a pair of home runs on Sunday, doubling his home run total for the season for Low-A Bradenton. In a return to Bradenton, Taylor is having an excellent season. He's hitting .333/.424/.569 this year. The 2024 fifth-round pick struggled in a brief 17-game stint in Low-A last year. As a 22-year-old college veteran, ideally he needs to get out of Low-A before long, and days like Sunday will help make the case for him to move up to Greensboro.
