George Lombard Jr., SS, Yankees: In 108 games at Double-A last year, Lombard Jr. hit eight home runs. In just his 14th game of the 2026 season, Lombard already has half that total for Somerset. The No. 43 prospect in baseball and top Yankees farmhand homered again on Tuesday, marking his second home run in two nights. He finished going 2-for-3 with a walk and a caught stealing and is now hitting .382/.453/.709. Lombard slid back to shortstop on Tuesday as part of a defensive rotation that has him adding third base to his toolbox.

Walker Jenkins, OF, Twins: Jenkins’ power drought finally ended on Tuesday. Seeing a hanging Jose Urquidy curveball, Jenkins yanked it over the right field fence for his first home run of the season. The shot was also his first extra-base hit in 10 games, as his only other extra-base hit is a double he hit on March 29. Jenkins, who ranks fifth overall in BA's Top 100 Prospects list, is slashing .220/.361/.288 so far this season. While he has hit the ball reasonably hard—he had a 112.3 mph exit velocity on a fly out and has posted five 110-plus mph EVs—he is not hitting balls hard in the air. His 388-foot home run Tuesday is his longest hit of the season so far, and he has only four balls hit further than 350 feet.

Eric Hartman, OF, Braves: Hartman doubled his season home run total on Tuesday for High-A Rome. The 19-year-old 20th-round pick from 2024 went 5-for-5 with three home runs in the Emperors' 15-6 win over Greensboro. He also drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk. Hartman wore out right field, pulling all three home runs. Ranked 26th in the Braves' system, he is now hitting .310/.365/.724 after having raised his slugging percentage by 196 points in one day.

Ronny Cruz, SS, Nationals: After stealing 12 bases last week and hitting .333/.460/.627 to earn a promotion out of Low-A Fredericksburg, Cruz homered as part of a 2-for-4 game in his High-A Wilmington debut. Batting leadoff, Cruz hit the fourth pitch of the game out to left-center field for his fourth home run in 15 games this season. The game did end a streak, however, as he'd stolen at least one base in five straight games, but he didn't attempt a steal on Tuesday. Cruz, trending up at the start of the 2026 season, checked in at No. 12 in BA's latest Hot Sheet prospect ranking.

Kiefer Lord, RHP, Orioles: Lord struck out 11 of the 14 batters he faced on Tuesday for Low-A Delmarva, as he simply overwhelmed the Wilson Warbirds lineup. Lord, 23, struck out the side in the first and second. While he gave up a walk, a single and an RBI groundout that drove in a run in the third, he responded by striking out the final two batters in the inning and then struck out the side again in the fourth before exiting the game. Lord's curveball helped him dominate Warbird hitters who couldn't figure out whether to swing over it or take it for strike three. Lord has a 3.71 ERA this year, but he's also struck out 45.1% of all batters he's faced.

Jamie Arnold, LHP, Athletics: In the best start of his very brief pro career, Athletics lefthander Arnold threw 4.2 hitless innings for Double-A Midland on Tuesday. He walked two batters and hit one while striking out seven. Facing Jurrangelo Cijntje in a matchup of elite pitching prospects, Arnold retired the first 10 batters he faced before hitting Miguel Ugeto with a pitch. He ran into a bit more trouble in the fifth, as he sandwiched a pair of walks around a pair of groundouts before leaving the game having thrown 79 pitches. Reliever Stevie Emanuels quickly finished out the inning. With 4.2 scoreless innings, Arnold, who ranks 34th on BA's Top 100 Prospects list, now has a 2.55 ERA with 27 strikeouts and six walks in 17.2 innings.

Baseball America Helium Pick Of The Day

Each day, we’ll pick a prospect that has our attention.

Charles Davalan, OF, Dodgers: Davalan hit a pair of home runs on Tuesday as part of a 3-for-5 day for High-A Great Lakes. It marked the second time Davalan has hit two home runs in a game this year, as he also did so back on April 5. What's more interesting is that Davalan, who was drafted 41st overall last summer and came into 2026 ranked sixth in the Dodgers' system, has only four total home runs this year. He's hit two home runs in a game twice, and he's gone homerless in his other 13 games. Davalan is hitting .321/.415/.607.

Quick Hits

Prospect news and notes from around baseball…

  • A’s infielder Joshua Kuroda-Grauer homered twice for Double-A Midland on Tuesday. The team’s No. 9 prospect, Kuroda-Grauer already has five homers this year after hitting two last season. He’s a contact-oriented infielder capable of above-average defense at multiple positions, so a sustained jump in impact certainly aids his profile.

  • Padres 2025 third-rounder Ryan Wideman homered twice for Low-A Lake Elsinore.

  • The Tigers curiously promoted Bryce Rainer to High-A West Michigan despite a 41% strikeout rate through 11 Low-A games. He went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in his debut with West Michigan.

  • The losses keep piling up for the Mets in the big leagues, but if it’s any consolation, Jonah Tong struck out nine Triple-A batters over 5.1 innings of one-run ball yesterday.
