Some of the more high-profile prospects in Arizona gave us a treat on Monday. Geoff Pontes has the latest below.

Denzel Clarke, OF, Athletics: Clarke’s loud stint in the Arizona Fall League continued on Monday. The A’s outfielder went 4-for-6 with a home run, a triple, five RBIs and three runs.  Clarke is now hitting .425/.549/.625 and ranks inside the top 10 of a variety of statistical categories for the AFL. Clarke has supreme tools, with plus speed, power, excellent fielding chops and an improving hit tool. If Clarke can get on base and make enough contact, he could blossom into an above-average regular. 

Moises Ballesteros, C, Cubs: Ballesteros is known for his advanced hitting and polished plate discipline, but the last few days he’s been a slugger. The Cubs prospect once again homered on Monday at Surprise Stadium, stretching his home run streak to three games. Ballesteros is in AFL to get more reps behind the plate after rising to Triple-A in his age-20 season. If the catching ability comes along, Ballesteros has the skills to develop into an all-star.

Thayron Liranzo & Josue Briceño, Tigers: The Fall League has welcomed two of the Tigers’ bigger prospects with open arms. Catcher Thayron Liranzo and first baseman Josue Briceño have impressed in Scottsdale and each collected multiple hits on Monday. Briceño’s AFL-leading OPS is now 1.423 after a pair of singles. Liranzo is hitting .424/.486/.758 and trails only Briceño and the Phillies infielder Otto Kemp in OPS. Liranzo had three more hits on Monday including a double. The duo of young sluggers could make their way to the Tigers over the next two seasons.
