6 AFL Performances That Caught Our Eye On Sunday

Plus: Enrique Bradfield runs wild and the Rays face a tough roster decision.

Owen Ayers, C, Cubs: Since he signed as a 19th-round pick in 2024, Ayers has had a pretty middling career at the plate. This year he hit .238/.341/.420 for Low-A Myrtle Beach. But in the Arizona Fall League, he can't be stopped. Ayers had his first four-hit game of the AFL, going 4-for-4 with a double, a walk and a stolen base. He is now hitting .405/.560/.676. He has 12 walks and seven strikeouts.

Jadher Areinamo, 2B, Rays: The Rays face a decision of whether to add Areinamo to the 40-man roster this offseason. Areinamo is doing his best to try to make his case. He went 3-for-5 for La Guaira in the Venezuelan winter league on Sunday, as he tripled and drove in two runs. Areinamo is hitting .371/.436/.571 in nine games in winter ball. He hit .285/.344/.445 this season between High-A and Double-A. The Rays acquired him from the Brewers in the July trade that sent Danny Jansen to the Milwaukee.

Luis Perales, RHP, Red Sox: Perales showed plenty of arm strength, but little in the way of results in his fourth Arizona Fall League start. Perales, who is working back from Tommy John surgery, now has a 6.75 ERA.

Perales allowed five hits in 2.2 innings of work. He gave up a pair of singles and an error before he recorded an out. After getting out of the first inning with just one unearned run, he struggled again in the second, walking the leadoff batter before Edward Duran tripled to the center field wall. A Miguel Ugueto single drove in another run. Perales gave up another single before leaving in the third inning.

Perales touched 100 mph at his best, and his cutter was effective, but he struggled to locate his changeup. After two effective starts, Perales has allowed eight hits in the past 4.2 innings.

Enrique Bradfield Jr., OF, Orioles: Bradfield Jr. has played 11 games for Peoria. After two steals in two attempts on Sunday, he now has 13 steals in 14 tries. Bradfield has a chance to top Caleb Durbin's AFL record 29 steals, but he may just not get into enough games to reach it. With only 13 games left on the schedule, Bradfield will have to ramp up his rate even more. But he is showing why he's a threat to go any time he reached first base. Bradfield is hitting .267/.377/.356 in the AFL season.

Charlie Condon, 1B, Rockies: Fresh off a five-hit game earlier this week, Rockies first baseman Charlie Condon went 3-for-4 with a walk on Sunday for Salt River as he raised his slash line to .346/.443/.462. Condon got off to a slow start, with just two hits in his first four games in the AFL, but he's had hits in eight of his last 10 games with four multi-hit games. His power has still been lacking however. Condon has three extra-base hits: one double, one triple and one home run.

Joe Lampe, OF, Guardians: Lampe hit his first home run and triple of the AFL season on Sunday. His eighth-inning home run was the go-ahead and eventually winning run in Surprise's 3-2 win over Peoria. Lampe is hitting .389/.577/.667 in eight games with Surprise. It's a nice start for an outfielder who has struggled to hit for average in the minors. Lampe hit .231/.317/.390 largely at Double-A Akron in 2025.
