Joshua Kuroda-Grauer, INF, Athletics: The Athletics placed shortstop Jacob Wilson on the injured list Monday and called up the 23-year-old Kuroda-Grauer from Triple-A Las Vegas. He made his MLB debut Monday night, going 3-for-4 while starting at second base.

The A's drafted Kuroda-Grauer out of Rutgers in the third round in 2024. He opened this season at Double-A Midland before moving to Triple-A on May 12. He batted .323/.367/.478 with seven home runs and 15 stolen bases in 75 games.

Kuroda-Grauer also plays second and third base and could see time all over the infield, mixing and matching with fellow versatile infielders Darrell Hernaiz, Max Muncy and Alika Williams.

Cameron Cauley, UTIL, Rangers: Cauley runs well. He gets on base. He plays four positions regularly at Triple-A Round Rock: shortstop, center field, second base and third base.

Now, the 23-year-old Cauley has made his big league debut, going 1-for-3 with two runs in a 6-3 Rangers win on Monday. Cauley’s first hit, a triple, helped set up Texas’ go-ahead run. At Triple-A, he batted .262/.363/.407 with eight home runs, 29 stolen bases and 45 walks in 74 games.

Cauley's righthanded bat is a complement to a Rangers roster that features young, lefthanded-hitting outfielders Evan Carter and Alejandro Osuna. He also could spell lefty-hitting veterans Brandon Nimmo and Corey Seager when they need a rest day.

Alfredo Duno, C, Reds: The Reds promoted their hard-hitting Venezuelan catcher to Double-A Chattanooga in time for the Lookouts' series at Biloxi this week.

Last season, a 19-year-old Duno led the Low-A Florida State League with 18 home runs, and he kept up the power pace this year at High-A Dayton, batting .260/.390/.512 with 16 homers in 65 games.

The Reds promoted five players in total from Dayton to Chattanooga on Monday. The other four are first baseman Carter Graham, righthander Jose Montero, shortstop Carlos Sanchez and center fielder Kien Vu.

Baseball America Helium Pick Of The Day

Each day, we’ll pick a prospect that has our attention.

Wilberson De Peña, OF, Yankees: De Peña came to the Yankees in a small deal last summer that sent infielder and former top prospect Oswald Peraza to the Angels. In his first season stateside, he’s raised his stock considerably and has been one of the best hitters in the Florida Complex League. Scouts praise De Peña for his combination of hittability, power and remaining projection, which will help him fit wherever he lands in the outfield. More than his on-field gifts, it’s impossible to ignore De Peña’s leadership qualities during a game. He shows outstanding situational awareness, is relentlessly upbeat and is engaged from the first pitch to the last. Put it all together, and you have one of the system’s faster risers. (JN)
